In refining, the component chemicals of petroleum are separated by distillation. Products based on refined crude oil include kerosene, benzene, gasoline, paraffin wax, asphalt, etc.
Here are some of the main products obtained from crude oil and the temperatures at which the different products boil off of the crude oil. Boiling ranges of petroleum atmospheric pressure distillation fractions in degrees Celsius:
petrol ether: 40 - 70 掳C (used as solvent)
light petrol: 60 - 100 掳C (automobile fuel)
heavy petrol: 100 - 150 掳C (automobile fuel)
light kerosene: 120 - 150 掳C (household solvent and fuel)
kerosene: 150 - 300 掳C (jet engine fuel)
gas oil: 250 - 350 掳C (Diesel fuel/ heating)
lubrication oil: %26gt; 300 掳C (engine oil)
remaining fractions: tar, asphalt, residual fuelWhat is the meaning of CRUDE OIL and how they fefine it make too many diffrent kind of oil products?
