Are there any products that can block oil production on the face for an entire day?

I have naturally oily facial skin, and while my problem isn't keeping it clean ( I use many facial cleaners throughout the day), the oil always comes back shortly after I wash my face. Is there anything I can use to minimize the amount of oil that comes out?Are there any products that can block oil production on the face for an entire day?
Absolutely. There are several things actually. The first is making sure you aren't using a cleanser that is drying so it trains your skin to produce more oil. People with really oily skin want to strip their skin so it feels squeaky clean. That's bad. Squeaky clean in skin speak tells the skin it's been stripped and needs to protect itself so it produces more oil. Your skin will have to get used to a new cleanser so you won't see an immediate improvement but in 30 days you'll see less oil. I like the dermadoctor wrinkle revenge cleansers, dermadoctor ain't misbehaving, or sage skincare facial shampoo. All are gentle enough to not stimulate oil glands to act up. The dermadoctor versions contain aha's to help smooth out the skin as well.





You can also address nutrition. A lot of times our skin reacts to protect itself. Skin that is not properly nourished will produce more oil to form a protective layer. Try taking a multi-vitamin daily and adding in an extra Vitamin A and Zinc supplement. These both will help to control oil.





The third thing you can do is use an oil control product. My favorites for all day control are:

Also try using oil blotting films. Don't use the oil blotting papers, they don't work as well and tend to smear oil around the face. The films (usually a blue color) actually remove the oil.





You need to re-train your face to stop producing so much oil. Overscrubbing will also produce excess oil so scrub less and use more AHA's which control oil production but without manually stimulating the oil glands. Try a good clay mask once a week as well. Good ones:

You really dont want to block oil production- thats dangerous and more or less impossible with cosmetic products.





If you're male, u just might be out of luck with all-day wear mineral makeup that absorbs oil to reduce the ';shine';.





To reduce oil in general:


1. stay out of the sun. radiation dries your face, making your body produce oil in overdrive to replace lost moisture


2. use alcohol-free face wash. same effect as above


3. dont wash your face too often. Washing strips oils, which causes more production.


4., drink lots of water
The democrats are blocking a lot of oil production in ANWR.
neutrogena oil-free cleanser removes oil and dirt. but you have to do it around twice or 3 times a day.
I started using a dermatologist-prescribed product called Retin-A. It is intended to stop oil production on the face by slowly peeling the top layers of skin to remove scarring or acne. It is amazing! I swear by it when it comes to improving skin. You will love the improvement.
i have yet to try out these products...but will very soon...


u could try using an oil on ur skin- i know uv got oily skin already but apparently jojoba oil works by imitating the oil production/ sebum or something (if u do a search on jojoba oil theres plenty of info on it), or maybe decleor ylang ylang arromenscence oil (which is a more expensive).


u could also try a pearl cream as that can control the shine.


i havent used these products yet as i have only just placed the order for both these products.
