Are mineral oil and petroleum jelly really bad for your hair? It seems like every product make for African Americans has these oils in them. Does anyone know of natural hair products that don't contain these oils?I heard that hair products with petroleum jelly and mineral oil are not good, is this true?
Have you tried jojoba oil? Coconut oil? Both of these oils are natural and good for hair. Coconut oil is fab for pre-wash oiling to condition and moisturize hair. Jojoba oil closely mimics your natural sebum. It is wonderful for after washing oiling. Shea butter is also good for hair. A tiny bit, melted and worked through your hair ends and length. Very moisturizing.
All are available in your local natural or whole foods store.
Personally, I don't put petrolium products in my hair. Or on my skin.I heard that hair products with petroleum jelly and mineral oil are not good, is this true?

I goto beauty school and i hadnt learned anything that would make that see bad for your hair. maybe just using alot of it and not shampooing your hair offten could cause a build up of product.
oils are generally good for your hair. since ancient times people have been using them in places like india, and pakistan. oils help control frizz and add moisture.
