Do oil control products dry out your skin?

because i have really oily skin, so i'm always looking for something to control that like makeup stuff. i noticed that it wasn't like that before i started trying all these new products though... which was about 1 and a half years ago. but now i'm thinking maybe my skin is overly dry from all the products i'm using.Do oil control products dry out your skin?
If the product has SD- Alcohol in it, it will dry out your skin. If you skin is oily and sensitive, the alcohol will cause stinging over time too.
